Transience

A long time posting. My latest uni project.

“Woman is the being who projects the greatest shadow or the greatest
light on our dreams.”
                                     - Charles Baudelaire
My initial concept for my body of work came from Freuds Requiem on transience. Their enjoyment is spoilt by the subconscious mourning of it’s beauty through the transience over time. I wanted to take the enjoyment away from the viewer and myself. This was an experience for me and a connection between myself and my model. My female gaze
upon their nude female body, which can raise a lot of questions. You desire something you can’t have. Visualise it over and over in your mind. The enjoyment is there in that moment in time, but then gone. Crumbled away like beauty itself. It’s a guilty pleasure. Enjoy the moment and that presence of that specific person, don’t subconsciously mourn for it loss, until it’s gone.
